Beautiful lakes, amazing waterfalls and stunning views on mountains, New York States is packed with a lot of scenery for you to explore. We encourage you to get out of your room to see the beauty of nature and take it home with your camera. Here are some trails we picked for your next hiking journey!

Location: Boonville

Trail Distance: 1.2 Miles


Just 18 miles north from Rome, you will arrive in the Pixley Falls State Park. This park has a 1/2 miles nature trail. This trail is short and mostly flat, which is perfect for a beginner. Just come and relax. Plus an amazing 50-foot waterfall is waiting for you, just listening to the waterfall will help you relieve from stress during the weekday.

Location: Tompkins County

Trail Distance: Multiple, from 1.4 Miles to 5.6 Miles


Near Ithaca, Hammond Hill Trail could be a good choice for your next hiking journey, It is suitable for everyone with different trail level to choose from. No matter you are casual hikers or experts. This trail is open all year round, you will be surprised with the experience will bring to you when the season is changing.

Location: Ulster County

Trail Distance: 8.5 Miles


This will be a challenging trail for you. The trail will take you up to 3,000 ft above sea level. The gorgeous Catskill Mountains will definitely make your trip worth it. Many people said the first stretch of it will be steep, so be prepared for it. However, when you see the gorgeous Catskill Mountains on the peak, you certainly will think your trip is worth it.

Trail Distance: 6.3 Miles


Compared to Wittenberg, the Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain trail will be much easier. The stunning scenery and gorgeous fall foliage attract a lot of tourists that come to visit. And you could also bring your dog with you! But make sure you arrive early to avoid the crowds.

Location: Wolcott, Wayne County

Trail Distance: about 2.5 Miles


Even though New York has a lot of lakes, Lake Ontario, one of the five great lakes in the US, is a must-go. This fun little trail is for you to enjoy the great view of Lake Ontario. You will even see the massive earthen spires formed by the clashing of earth and water on the shoreline. Definitely a trail you want to go to.

Location: Haines Fall, Greene County

Trail Distance: 2.6 Miles


Kaaterskill Falls Trail in Greene County is a fun hike for people of all ages and experience levels. This 2.6-mile trail has some great views and features a breathtaking waterfall. Many people come because of the waterfall. Make sure you bring your camera!

Location: Fort Ann, Washington County

Trail Distance: 7 Miles


If you’re looking for a hike that offers great peak views but doesn’t require too much rock scrambling, check out Buck Mountain Trail. This trail is a 7 mile out and back trail. It seems easy, but it is a test of endurance rather than climbing. But you will like the views of Lake George, this makes the hike is well worth it!
